This was a painting I most enjoyed doing. When I was first asked to paint this my initial reaction was a quick NO! I just couldn’t think I could tackle such a huge project since it was a wedding present but with a bit of convincing, I realized what an incredible honor it was for me so got out my “live outside my comfort zone” signs and got to work. Feeling quite like I imagine an architect feels I drew the house out to scale to the requested size, practicing in pastel. Once I felt comfortable I took a deep breath to begin freehand with my trusted oils. I truly felt like the angels were holding my hand.
